Attack — Tel-Aviv, Sarona Market
8 juin 2016·Tel-Aviv, Sarona Market
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
The Sarona Market is a food hall installed in a former nineteenth-century German Templar colony, in the heart of Tel-Aviv, adjacent to the Ministry of Defense. Two attackers in suits open fire on the terrace of a café.
The contrast between the assailants' attire, the setting — restaurants and fine food boutiques — and the immediate proximity of the general staff made this attack a particular shock in Israel. It marks the return of shootings in the very center of Tel-Aviv after several years without a major attack in the city, and leads to a strengthening of security checks in dining establishments open to the street.
