fedayins open fire during evening prayer in the school synagogue
Fedayeen opened fire in the synagogue of the agricultural school of Kfar Chabad, during the evening prayer. The village had been founded a few years earlier by Hassidic survivors from the Soviet Union, and the school welcomed teenagers.
The Rabbi of Lubavitch, in New York, asked that the village not be abandoned and that, on the contrary, it be built upon: the printing workshop opened in the months that followed was the response given to the attack. The place became a symbol of this refusal to leave.
