Attack — Jerusalem, Armon HaNatziv

The Armon HaNatziv promenade overlooks the old city of Jerusalem from the south: it is a vantage point where school groups and soldiers on orientation visits stop to listen to their guide's presentation. A truck driven at full speed plowed into a group of young soldiers who were getting off their bus.

The attack, carried out by a resident of East Jerusalem, employed the same method used a few weeks earlier in Berlin and Nice, which fueled debate in both Israel and Europe about the spread of tactics between theaters with no organizational connection to one another. It led to the installation of concrete barriers along the city's promenades and tram stops.
