The Jewish quarter of Prague was attacked during a riot.

The city was then one of the largest in the Empire, and its Jewish community, the oldest in Central Europe, lived in the tightly packed quarter that would become Josefov. It fled from there, and seven years later it would suffer an even far worse attack.
