The community of Olmütz was destroyed during the Black Death.
An episcopal see and one of the two capitals of Moravia, the city expelled its Jews in the following century, as did Brünn and Znaim; Moravian Judaism thus became, for four centuries, a Judaism of small seigneurial towns.
