the community rebuilt after the 1285 fire is destroyed again
The community of Munich, reconstituted after the burning of the synagogue in the previous century, was destroyed once again during the Black Death.
The city had witnessed, under Rudolf of Habsburg, one of the first major ritual murder accusations in southern Germany, which had ended with the burning of the synagogue along with those who had taken refuge inside it. Two destructions within two generations, and Munich's Jewish community remained sparse thereafter until the expulsion from Bavaria.
