the community destroyed

The community of Goslar, at the foot of the Harz, was destroyed during the Black Death.

An imperial city and the city of the Rammelsberg mines, Goslar had an ancient Jewish presence, attested as early as the eleventh century; it disappeared with the wave.

The community lent to the operators of the silver and copper mines of the Harz, on which the city lived; its disappearance deprived the region of its credit for a generation.
