Marriage contract of the Jews of Bukhara, with decoration inspired by Central Asian arts: round arches, stylised flowers and warm tones reminiscent of ikat silks. The central Hebrew-Aramaic text is inscribed in an architectural frame enhanced with gold. These ketubbot testify to a community long isolated, conservative of ancient formulas.
