Oria (Apulie méridionale, Italie) fut l'un des principaux foyers intellectuels du judaïsme médiéval en Italie méridionale aux IXe–Xe siècles. Elle est célèbre comme patrie d'Ahimaaz ben Paltiel, dont le Sefer Yuhasin (Megillat Ahimaaz, vers 1054) constitue une source unique sur l'histoire des familles juives de l'Italie méridionale byzantine et sur la transmission de la culture juive en Méditerranée.
