The Shoah (1939–1945)

Last major convoy from France

31 juill. 1944·Drancy (dernier convoi)

Toll
bilan non établi

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

The last major convoy leaves Drancy for Upper Silesia a few weeks before the liberation of Paris.

The last deportation convoy to leave France departs from Drancy in the middle of July, while Allied armies have been in Normandy for several weeks. It carries internees of all origins, including children rounded up from homes in the Paris region. The camp is evacuated the following month, and its last occupants are liberated by the Resistance. The convoys that left Drancy over three years carried away almost all of the Jewish deportees from France.
