The Shoah (1939–1945)

German takeover of Drancy camp

juill. 1943·Drancy (commandement allemand)

Toll
bilan non établi

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

The camp came under direct German command and the pace of convoys to the east accelerated.

At the beginning of July, the administration of the Drancy camp, until then entrusted to the prefecture of police, passes directly into the hands of the German command in Paris. The camp's regime immediately hardens: searches, systematic spoliation of the internees, brigades sent to arrest throughout France the persons whose addresses had been extorted. The convoys resume at a sustained pace and will not cease until the eve of the Liberation.
