The small Jewish community of Middelburg and Zeeland is arrested and deported via Westerbork.
The small Jewish communities of Zélande, scattered between Middelbourg, Flessingue, and the islands, are gathered together and then deported. Middelbourg, which had housed the province's main synagogue, had seen its community dwindle since the previous century; the deportation completed what the exodus to the larger cities had begun. After the war, the province of Zélande no longer had any organized Jewish community.
