The occupier arrests Jews from Arnhem and Guelders in collective reprisals.
In Arnhem, on the Rhine, the occupier arrests Jewish men following an incident that occurred in the city and directs them toward Mauthausen. The community of Arnhem, one of the oldest in Guelders, endowed with a synagogue and schools, is thus deprived of a portion of its adult men well before the opening of regular convoys. The death notices received by families in the months that followed offered no explanation.
