Tomaszów Mazowiecki est une ville industrielle de la région de Łódź dont la communauté juive, fondée au début du XIXe siècle, joua un rôle central dans l'industrie textile locale. Un ghetto y fut établi en 1941 et les habitants furent déportés à Treblinka en 1942.
