Tafraout, bourg de l'Anti-Atlas central (province de Tiznit), était réputé pour ses orfèvres et joailliers juifs, dont les créations en argent ornaient les femmes amazighes de la région. Ces artisans constituaient un élément essentiel de l'économie locale et des échanges intercommunautaires. Ils émigrèrent vers Tiznit, Agadir et Israël au milieu du XXe siècle.
