Ostrów Wielkopolski (Grande-Pologne) abritait une communauté juive attestée depuis le XVIIe siècle, qui joua un rôle important dans le commerce régional. Après l'annexion par l'Allemagne nazie en 1939, les Juifs de la ville furent expulsés, déportés et exterminés dans le cadre de l'opération Reinhard.
