Orsha, ville de Biélorussie sur le Dniepr, abritait une longue présence juive depuis le XVIe siècle. Centre commercial actif, la communauté juive y joua un rôle dans le commerce des grains et du bois. La majeure partie de la communauté fut massacrée par les Einsatzgruppen en 1941.
