Mersin (İçel), port cilicien en développement rapide à l'époque ottomane tardive, a accueilli une présence juive documentée dans les registres ottomans et les sources consulaires étrangères. Les Juifs y étaient principalement négociants dans l'économie portuaire méditerranéenne.
