Hechingen, capitale du comté de Hohenzollern, a abrité une communauté juive documentée depuis le XVIIe siècle, bénéficiant de la protection des princes de Hohenzollern. La synagogue construite au XIXe siècle est l'une des rares conservées dans la région.
