Haisyn (Gaisin), bourg de Podolie, possédait une communauté juive active depuis le XVIIIe siècle, engagée dans le commerce local et régional. La Shoah emporta la majeure partie de ses habitants juifs, massacrés lors d'opérations nazies en 1942.
