Gniezno, ancienne capitale du Royaume de Pologne et siège primatial, abritait une présence juive médiévale attestée par des sources documentaires. La communauté juive moderne, reconstituée après l'ère des expulsions, fut active dans le commerce jusqu'à son anéantissement pendant la Shoah.
