Deir ez-Zor, sur l'Euphrate syrien, a abrité une petite communauté juive attestée par les registres de population ottomans de la fin du XIXe siècle. La plupart des familles juives émigrèrent vers Alep ou la Palestine avant la Première Guerre mondiale.
