Bistrița (Bistritz en allemand, Bistritz en yiddish), ville de Transylvanie du nord, accueillit une communauté juive organisée au XIXe siècle, issue en partie de migrations galiciennes. La communauté, dont une partie pratiquait le hassidisme, fut déportée à Auschwitz en 1944 lors des déportations massives de la Hongrie occupée.
