The Jewish children interned at Vught camp were taken with their mothers to Sobibor.
The camp of Vught, the only concentration camp established by the occupiers on Dutch soil, had received a section reserved for Jewish families. The children held there with their parents were evacuated, the youngest taken with their mothers, the others alone; they were directed toward Westerbork, then eastward. The parents remaining in the camp learned of the departure after the fact. The evacuation emptied the Jewish section of Vught, which continued to operate for the other detainees until autumn.
