Jewish children evacuated from Simferopol and housed at the Ieysk orphanage are taken away in a gas truck.

Ieïsk, a small port on the Sea of Azov, housed an orphanage where children evacuated from Crimea had been taken in, including a group from Simferopol. Many were sick or disabled.

The Jewish children there are identified, separated from the rest of the institution, then taken away in a gas truck on October 9 and 10, 1942. The orphanage staff, who had attempted to conceal their origin, testified before the investigative commission after the liberation of the city.
