A small town in the Bryansk region, Sourai sees its Jewish families gathered in the square then led to the neighboring ravine, where local auxiliaries lend a hand to the mobile units.
Sourai, a small town on the fringes of the Briansk region, loses its Jewish inhabitants during the autumn operations: registered, stripped of their belongings, then led out of town and shot into an open pit dug on its outskirts, along with the refugees whom the retreat had left behind there.
