the synagogue transformed into a church
In the aftermath of the expulsion from Styria, the synagogue of Graz was converted into a church.
This was the ordinary fate of synagogues in Austria following the expulsions: the one in Graz became the Church of All Saints, while those in other towns were turned into chapels dedicated to the Virgin. The tombstones from the cemetery were used as building materials, and the neighborhood kept its name of Judendorf.
