the community attacked
The community of Wiener Neustadt was attacked during the Black Death.
It survived this wave and became, in the following century, one of the most important in Austria: it was there that Israël Isserlein taught, whose decisions carry authority in German rabbinical law. It was annihilated by the general expulsion from Austria at the end of the fifteenth century.
