the attacked community
The community of Sisteron was attacked during the massacres of the Black Death. The city commanded the crossing of the Durance on the road that climbs toward the Dauphiné.
It was along this road that the wave moved northward: Grenoble, Vienne, then Savoy, where Count Amédée VI had the trial conducted at Chillon that produced the most detailed confessions. These confessions, extracted under torture, were copied and sent to the cities of Alsace, where they served as proof.
