Charles IV expels the Jews from France anew, eight years after their recall

Charles IV expelled the Jews from France once more, eight years after the recall granted by Louis X and before the twelve-year term had elapsed. Property was seized, debts collected for the benefit of the treasury.

This is the third expulsion in a single generation, and it is nearly final: apart from a brief recall in the middle of the century, the kingdom of France would remain without Jews until the annexation of Alsace and Lorraine, more than three centuries later.
