איציק מאַנגער
געגנט: Czernowitz (Bucovine), Varsovie, Londres, Israël
Né à Czernowitz (Bucovine, alors Autriche-Hongrie), fils d'un tailleur, il devient l'un des plus grands poètes populaires yiddish. Il publie son premier recueil « Shtern afn dakh » (Étoiles sur le toit) à Varsovie en 1929. Sa « Khumesh-lider » (dite Itzik's Midrash, 1935) relit la Bible en la transposant dans le shtetl est-européen.
