Toll
dizaines de morts

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

the community of the town is attacked, houses looted and set on fire

Qusabat, a town in the Tripolitanian interior, had a Jewish community living from trade and crafts, in constant contact with the surrounding villages. It was one of the communities most severely struck by the violence of November.

Jewish homes were looted and then set on fire; inhabitants who could not escape were killed on the spot. The town being far from any garrison, several days passed before a British force could reach it — this delay accounts for the severity of the toll compared to localities closer to Tripoli.

The community never recovered. Its survivors made their way to the capital, then to Israel, during the organized emigration of the following years.
