Three convoys carry away in a few days almost the entire Plzeň community to Theresienstadt; the city's great synagogue, one of the largest in Europe, is emptied of its faithful.

The community of Plzeň is deported within a few days at the start of the year, in successive convoys to Theresienstadt. The great synagogue of the city, one of the largest in Europe, is stripped of its religious objects and converted into a warehouse. The Jewish inhabitants of Plzeň and the towns of western Bohemia are first gathered in the premises of a school, then led to the station. Almost none will return.
