The Shoah (1939–1945)
First convoy departed from Berlin
18 oct. 1941·Berlin
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
The first deportation train leaves Grunewald station for the Łódź ghetto; convoys then succeed each other from Moabit and Anhalt stations.
The first deportation convoy leaves Berlin in the autumn, bound for the Lodz ghetto. Those summoned had been ordered to gather in a synagogue in the city that had been converted into an assembly point, then were led on foot to a freight station. Other convoys will follow almost every week from the capital.
