Kristallnacht in Linz

9-10 nov. 1938·Linz

Toll
bilan non établi

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

The synagogue of Linz is destroyed by fire and Jewish homes are looted; the city is declared emptied of its Jews shortly after.

The synagogue in Linz, on the banks of the Danube, is burned down on the same night. The men of the community are arrested and sent to the camp that has just opened upstream on the river. The city, which the regime intended to make a showcase, soon declares itself rid of its Jewish inhabitants; communal property is seized and places of worship razed to the ground.
