the community destroyed
The community of Linz, rebuilt since the Black Death, was destroyed during the Wiener Gesera.
This is the second annihilation of the same city within seventy years: the first stemmed from the accusation of poisoning wells, the second from that of host desecration. After the Gesera, there were no more Jews in Upper Austria until modern times.
