La Bibliothèque de la Real Academia de la Historia à Madrid conserve un fonds hébreu et judéo-arabe constitué par l'orientaliste Pascual de Gayangos au XIXe siècle. Il comprend des manuscrits séfarades médiévaux, des documents de la Geniza et des textes philosophiques judéo-arabes provenant d'Espagne et du Maroc. Ce fonds est catalogué dans le répertoire des manuscrits espagnols mais reste peu étudié par les spécialistes de l'hébreu. Il représente une fenêtre unique sur la transmission des textes juifs dans la péninsule ibérique au bas Moyen Âge.
