געגנט: Tlemcen (Algérie)

Décrit comme le plus célèbre rabbin d'Algérie de l'ère moderne, grand rabbin de Tlemcen (nommé en 1869). Il édicta en 1874 une takana relative aux mariages civils et défendit la mémoire du rabbin Yaacob Akrich dans un pamphlet « Kebod Yaacob ». Décisionnaire, il laissa un recueil de responsa et réédita une œuvre classique de rabbi Ephraïm Enkaoua.
