Emilio Servadio

Italian Jewish psychoanalyst, parapsychologist and journalist, born in Sestri Ponente to Jewish parents (father Cesare, a shipping executive from the Marches; mother Faustina Finzi, from a Florentine jewelry family). Co-founded the Italian Psychoanalytic Society in 1932 and served as its president (1963-1969); founded the Italian Society of Metapsychics (later the Italian Society of Parapsychology) in 1937. Emigrated to India in 1938 after Fascist racial laws, returning after the war. Honoured as Grande Ufficiale of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 1982.
