Né à Brooklyn de Julius et Shirley Zweibel, famille juive. Scénariste original du Saturday Night Live (1975-1980), lauréat de cinq Emmy Awards. A collaboré avec Billy Crystal (700 Sundays) et Dave Barry (Lunatics).
