Logicien et mathématicien juif polonais de l'école de Varsovie, connu pour le lemme de Lindenbaum et les algèbres de Lindenbaum–Tarski. Docteur en 1928 (sous W. Sierpiński), habilité en 1934 à l'Université de Varsovie, il fut le plus proche collaborateur d'Alfred Tarski entre les deux guerres. Il publia sur la logique mathématique, la théorie des ensembles et l'arithmétique cardinale. Il fut assassiné par les nazis à Ponary, près de Vilnius.
