With the Italian occupation zone gone, Jews who had taken refuge in Isère are arrested.
After the withdrawal of Italian troops from the Isère in early September, the German police entered Grenoble, where many Jews had taken refuge under the Italian occupation. Arrests struck the city and the neighboring mountain resorts, including Saint-Gervais and Uriage. Those apprehended were sent to Drancy. For nearly a year, the Dauphiné had been one of the few regions of France where deportations had been prevented.
