The Champagne community is arrested and taken to the city of la Muette.

During the summer, the German police and the French police arrest the Jews of the Aube department. Those apprehended are sent to Drancy. Troyes was home to an ancient community, whose memory was bound to the Bible and Talmud commentator born in the city in the eleventh century, and a more recent population who had come from Poland during the interwar period to work in the hosiery trade.
