The Jews of Namur and the province are arrested and taken to Malines; others are hidden in villages in the Meuse.
In Namur and the municipalities of the province, the occupier arrests Jews registered in the municipal registry and routes them to Malines. The community, ancient but small, also included refugee families from Germany and Central Europe who had arrived in the preceding decade. The convents and farms of the Meuse valley sheltered children entrusted by their parents before the arrests.
