The small Jewish community of Gand is arrested and taken to Malines.
In Ghent, in East Flanders, the Jewish community — small in number and composed largely of recent refugees — was arrested and directed to the Dossin barracks in Malines. The municipal lists, drawn up under the mandatory register imposed from the first year of the occupation, served as the basis for summonses and then for raids. The city's synagogue was closed, and the community did not reconstitute itself until after the war.
