In Enghien, in Brabant, an accusation of host desecration was brought against the Jews of the duchy, and the community was attacked.
The affair is what Brabant called the Sacrament of Miracle: it was claimed that stolen hosts had bled under the knife blows of the Jews of Brussels. Duke Wenceslas had the accused burned, and the feast instituted in memory of the miracle was celebrated in Brussels until the middle of the twentieth century, before the Church acknowledged the calumny and brought it to an end.
