The community of Nemyriv, already destroyed at the time of the seventeenth-century massacres, is confined and then shot; the city figures among the places that Jewish memory names twice.
The community of Nemyriv was among the oldest in Podolia, and its name already appears in the lamentations composed after the uprisings of the seventeenth century. Confined to an enclosed quarter, then led outside the town, its last Jewish inhabitants were shot during the liquidation of the ghetto. Nemyriv thus belongs to those places that Jewish Memory names twice, three centuries apart.
