Foreign Jews taking refuge in the city are arrested and gathered at Nexon.
At the end of August, the prefecture of Haute-Vienne ordered the arrest of foreign Jews who had taken refuge in Limoges and throughout the department, their numbers having swelled since the exodus. Families were gathered together and directed to Nexon, from where convoys made their way to Drancy. The Limousin had been sheltering entire communities relocated from Alsace and Moselle, as well as refugees from Central Europe, and the arrests struck both alike.
