The Shoah (1939–1945)

Shootings of Braslav

juin 1942·Braslav

Toll
bilan non établi

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

The Jews of Braslav are led to a hill outside the town and shot; a second action, a few months later, completes the destruction of the community.

On the shores of the lakes of northern Belarus, Braslav sees its ghetto liquidated at the end of a spring of forced labor. The inhabitants are led to nearby pits; a group of young people, who had gathered a few weapons, attempts to break through the encirclement, and a handful of them reach the forest, where they join the partisan detachments.
