The community of Retchytsa, on the banks of the Dniepr, was shot in the autumn in a ravine near the city.
On the right bank of the Dniepr, Retchytsa loses its community shortly after the arrival of German troops. The city's Jews are counted, marked, confined to a few streets, then led outside the town and shot. The woodworking and river trades that had sustained the Jewish quarter for generations no longer employ their own.
